Job Description:

As a member of the Support team in Mumbai the candidate will be responsible for L1 and L2 Support which is as follows:

Level 1 Support

  • Receiving and acknowledging the incident
  • Contact client, ask for all relevant information (if not provided together with the incident report) that is necessary to get to the bottom of the incident (check lists, scripts)
  • Incident concerning simple questions or obvious configuration errors may be closed during this phase


Level 2 Support

  • Analysis of the problem (1): Configure environment that is the same or similar to the production system of the client
  • Analysis of the problem (2): Try to recreate the incident, study logs, find out what went wrong
  • Confirm existence of bug AND confirm/correct Severity level
  • Communication between Development, PM and the client to support bug-fixing
  • Providing Analysis and ETA to client; providing workarounds for service resumption

In addition we expect the candidate to verify that patches created by Development are addressing the reported problem.

Furthermore the candidate is expected to develop in-depth expertise about certain products, focusing on the different components and their design, the logs, configuration options and business purpose.

Qualifications, Experience & other Requirements:

Mandatory Requirements
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong SQL / Oracle PL/SQL
  • Good UNIX or LINUX skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Availability to work in shifts including possible move shortly to 24X5/7
Education & Experience:
  • BE/B. Tech/MCA or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in support
